La campaña Esenciales ha superado esta semana las 400.000 firmas de apoyo a una Iniciativa Legislativa Popular que requiere medio millón de firmas. REDES impulsa esta campaña desde la Comisión Promotora, mientras que muchas de sus entidades socias participan en ella, junto a otras 200 entidades eclesiales.
En una nota de prensa, la Comisión destaca que se trata de una campaña transversal y amplia, que está logrando movilizar a sectores muy diversos de la sociedad para reclamar la regularización extraordinaria de personas migrantes que ya viven y trabajan en España. Es por tanto una experiencia de fermento social, en la que las entidades de Iglesia caminamos junto a todas aquellas con las que compartimos el horizonte de justicia y derechos.
En este sentido, el pasado fin de semana muchas organizaciones cristianas nos movilizamos para recoger firmas a las puertas de muchas iglesias con motivo de la Jornada Mundial del Migrante promovida por el Papa Francisco. Al mismo tiempo se recogían apoyos en movilizaciones ecologistas con el apoyo de colectivos juveniles por el clima. Paralelamente en fiestas populares, como la de La Mercè en Barcelona, se instalaron puestos de firmas.
Invitamos a continuar el esfuerzo para sensibilizar sobre esta campaña y poder conseguir el objetivo en diciembre.
